6 weeks to go! Time to step it up?

How are we going to step it up this week?  How about the rest of the year?  Counting this week there are 6 weeks to go!  Still plenty of time to make a dent in your weight before the end of the year.  December 30th will come whether or not you lose any weight.  Our New Years Eve party in Parowan is on Dec. 30th (Yes, not the 31st) @ 9pm.  Lose weight and feel good!  You have nothing to lose (except pounds)!

Body Fat Pic

Look at how the body is deformed because of the extra fat. Do we really want our bodies to have to feel like this? Have to work this hard? It is so strenuous on our bodies to have extra weight on them. If our motivation comes from material things, our kids, our futures... I know that one motivator should be to help our own bodies! We are given only one body, and I can't believe this is how I've treated mine! I don't know about you, but for me; it's crunch time!!

Old Cycle Ends NOW

I don't know what finally clicked but I woke up the other day and I was just really depressed because being over weight and having no energy.  I keep focusing on how crappy I felt and realized I shouldn't be focusing on that.  I need to focus on the future, being healthy, and being there for my girls.

I also started thinking about it.  What Blaine and I eat Ashlyn and Kinsley eat too.  They are gonig to continue with the bad habbits that I have now.  The other day Ashlyn had her own can of soda and that really grossed me out.  Come on she is 2 years old and doesn't need to be putting that filth in her little body. That is not what I want for my girls,  I don't want to be the one to blame for them having health problems and being over weight if I can help it. . . . . . . Let us all break the Old Cycle

Blaine and I both started our diet yesterday.  We may not be able to lose the 10 percent before dec. 31st but we will try our hardest.  Whatever weight we lose we will be happy about because we are that much skinner than what we started out in the beginning. :)

Contraction & Expansion

By this point, I think we have all seen some success and failure during the past few weeks.  For me, this last week was a killer!  Literally.  With a series of rash decisions I effectively killed off the new Sam!  Looking back, I made a decision to shoot myself before I actually pulled the trigger.  I could sense the danger of the loaded gun, but I was too weak to intervene.  I caved.  I pulled the trigger.

Simple decisions that seemed innocent changed the course of my week.  Simple decisions have potential to change the course of our lives.  We all have a loaded gun - everyday.  The chamber is loaded with an arsenal of destruction.  If we pull the trigger the destruction can be subtle or immediate, but there will always be a consequence.  Unfortunately, we rarely get to choose the consequence of our actions.

Let's Go!

It is a new week, time for everyone to pick up the slack and start dieting. Aren't we all tired of being overweight with no energy; I know I am. Whats is store for us if we don't get to a healthy weight? Diabetes, lack of energy, lack of total happiness, heart problems? This goes out to all of us who are on this challenge, especially myself!

Finding that motivation

I kinda wanted to share my opinion for helping some people find their motivation to stick with the weightloss challenge. I think you need to find a motivator. Its okay if your motivation is a vacation, new clothes, a new job, health benefits, yadda yadda... choose what motivates you the most and focus on that. For me, the best motivational tool I have is my best friend Jeremy. We have a common goal, and when one of us is feeling discouraged, we lift eachother up. I would suggest confiding in someone within your household. When your friends and family are on board and willing to help and keep you encouraged, it makes a world of difference.

For me, when I just feel crummy and don't want to make dinner or lunch, Jeremy steps in and just does it. We have not eaten out lately and it's paid off. I've noticed that some of us are having a hard time doing a weightloss regime because of the lack of money to buy the "correct" groceries. Dont fret about that!! You can still eat low calorie on a very strict diet. What works for me or Jeremy or Sam or Amy is different from Ange or Ben or Rod or Vennette. On a tight budget still eat what you need, but eat less of it. Have one serving, instead of two.

I have a hard time with the word "diet". I think what would be a better word would be " life change". Because we are teaching ourselves the right way to live... lower calories, more exercise, self discipline... its not what a "diet" entails. I want us all to challenge ourselves in the weeks to come. Lets think about changing our perspectives about food. We eat to live, not live to eat! Lets tell ourselves everyday "I am amazing. I am doing what is best for my body. I am in charge of myself."

Self motivation is an incredible tool, but by gaining the compassion and help of family and friends; I know we can all do this!! I support everyone! And if you are feeling discouraged, just remember we are re-teaching our bodies and minds how to get healthy and stay healthy!!

Cheers!
